Alan Shearer OBE (born 13 August 1970 in Gosforth, Tyne and Wear) is an English former professional footballer who played for the English national team and three English Premiership clubs: Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United.

During his career he enjoyed successes at both club and international level and also in his personal life, becoming one of the most prolific strikers of all time. In total he scored 422 goals for club and country, averaging 25 goals a season for each of his 17 seasons as a player. Shearer currently holds the Premier League goalscoring record with 260 goals. He announced his international retirement following England’s exit from Euro 2000 but continued to play for Newcastle United until 2006, when, after an injury plagued season, he retired completely from football.

Miroslav hails from a sporting family; Miroslav Klose’s mother, Barbara Jeż, was a member of the Poland national handball team (appearing in 82 international matches), and his father, Józef Kloze, was a footballer, reaching the Poland national soccer team. In 1981, the Klose family escaped communist Poland, moving first to France, then in 1987, to Kusel, Germany. Klose’s father is from an ethnic German family and thus could resettle as an Aussiedler.

Shortly after settling in Germany, the Klozes changed their Polonized surname back to Klose, the surname of his German grandfather, Erwin Klose, born in 1910 in Upper Silesia. With his wife Sylwia, Miroslav has twins: Luan and Noah, born in Germany on January 30, 2005.
Klose learned his football at a village club, Blaubach-Diedelkopf, in the German seventh division. Klose had also successfully completed an apprenticeship to become a carpenter and had worked in this profession until joining the professional team of Kaiserslautern. Klose scored his first ever bayern goal in a friendly against Brazilian side Sao Paulo FC in Hong Kong Stadium.

He was born in Madeira, Portugal, to his mother Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and his father José Dinis Aveiro. He grew up with an elder brother Hugo, and two elder sisters, Elma and Katia. Marítimo, the bigger team, missed a crucial meeting with Rui Santos manager of Andorinha, and as a result Ronaldo signed for Nacional. After a title-winning campaign at Nacional, Ronaldo went on a three day trial with Sporting who subsequently signed him for an undisclosed sum.
